LEAH ROGNE, PH.D.

Leah Rogne, Ph.D. is Professor Emerita of Sociology, Minnesota State University, Mankato. She received a bachelor’s degree at Tougaloo College in Mississippi, a master’s degree at North Dakota State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. She has published on long-term peace activists, death and dying, and social insurance and social justice. Her current research focuses on the 1815 escape from enslavement of a young man who escaped enslavement by her ancestors, the Sewards of Sussex County, New Jersey. She lives in northern Minnesota
