YVETTE LAGONTERIE

Yvette LaGonterie has retired from a long federal career specializing in immigration, homeland security and international affairs. She has been an avid family historian for over 20 years, focusing on her African-American and Caribbean ancestry. Her work has been published in the Annals of Genealogical Research. She is invited to speak frequently in Washington, DC about her research which tells the stories of enslaved and the emancipated. Her research has been featured in the Washingtonian magazine.
